Many moons ago, a young boy roamed alone
An orphan filled with pain, as he watched his parents slain
Victims of the beast, slaughtered in the city streets
The child's mind, haunted by the echoes of their screams

The boy cried but no one knew his name
His father's sword all that remained
The only thing that still seemed real
The bitter comfort of steel

I hold the broken pieces now
The hilt my father once held proud
The blade shattered against the astral beast
A reminder of my last defeat
This isn't how it's supposed to be

All who gave their lives
Who sacrificed
I feel this weight I cannot breathe
Their staring eyes
Witness from the skies
The crimson stains upon my wings

The beast sits upon the city like a throne
Her dark magic claiming the land as her own
Spirals of light escape, draining all life away
Our world cries out in pain

I swore, we'd never give up
Victory at any cost
But after all, it wasn't enough
Now we're forever lost
Why? How could I fail to save them in the end
Why must they die? So many fallen friends

All who gave their lives
Who sacrificed
